wHAT iS iRONY?

Irony is the difference and/or contrast between what seems to be true and what isn't.

• Verbal Irony: when something is said opposite or in contrast to what someone else said.
• Situational Irony: when a situation happens in contrast to what was thought to happen.
• Dramatic Irony: when a character believes or says something and we/ the audience knows it isn't.
